💼 How can you contribute to the team?
While working on the Trade, Supply Chain, and Microfinance (TSCMF) product delivery, the SQA Test Lead will be responsible for performing the following tasks:
Own and continuously refine the overall test strategy and quality engineering approach for TSCMF (including test levels, environments, tooling, automation approach, entry/exit criteria, and release readiness), aligned with delivery priorities and risks.
Lead or facilitate key quality ceremonies (test planning, defect triage, release readiness reviews) and drive timely resolution of quality risks, including root cause analysis and preventive actions with the delivery team.
Review the project’s document artifacts, e.g., functional requirement documents (FRDs), high-level solution design (HLSD), solution design document (SDD), database design documents, etc. (in Azure DevOps or ADO, where applicable) for the purpose of preparing test artifacts. Escalate to the Product Delivery Manager any issues found within the said artifacts.
Prepare master test plan for the project.
Prepare and maintain relevant deliverables and test artifacts, e.g., master test plan, test scenarios, test cases, test scripts, test data, test results, test defects, test completion reports, traceability matrices, etc. (in ADO, where applicable) in conformance with client's standards and processes.
Plan, design, implement, and maintain automated tests across UI and API layers (e.g., Selenium + Cucumber, Datadog Synthetic Testing), applying engineering best practices (version control, code review, modular design, reusability, and clear naming/tagging conventions).
Design and own maintainable automation frameworks (e.g., BDD/data-driven patterns as applicable), including test data strategy, reusable components, and documentation, and provide guidance/knowledge transfer to other QA resources.
Integrate automated tests into Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines (Azure Pipelines) and/or Datadog pipeline scheduling as applicable, including implementing automated smoke/health checks after deployments, defining quality gates and pass/fail criteria, and publishing automated test results to support release readiness decisions.
Continuously improve automation reliability and execution speed by diagnosing and reducing flaky tests, maintaining pipeline/test assets, and coordinating environment and test data readiness with the delivery team.
Document data reconciliation approaches. Automate data validation and reconciliation (e.g., database queries, API response validation, report/data comparisons) to improve test coverage and reduce manual verification effort.
Arranges test environment availability within client Azure DevOps; Acts as focal to product owner and business users for conduct of the product demo, including evidence/ reports on Azure Test Plans as exit criteria for the increment.
Prepare and maintain test data, including setting up of users, roles, and responsibilities for testing purposes.
Define and track key quality indicators such as test coverage, defect density, defect leakage, automation pass rates, and release readiness indicators, and communicate risks proactively to stakeholders.
Inspect test evidence and reports provided by the vendor and coordinate issues with vendor until passing, declares pass/ fail to PDM as entry criteria for the next phase / activity.
Conduct final cycle of functional test, systems integration test, and performance test to ensure that defined functional and non functional requirements are met from client perspective, which serves as entry criteria to user acceptance test or product demo.
Support user acceptance test.
Provide clear, decision-oriented test reporting to stakeholders (progress, risks, blockers, and recommendations), including timely escalation of quality issues and explicit release readiness assessments (go/no-go recommendation with rationale). Prepare dashboards in ADO to aggregate and summarize test results.
Arrange for and conduct knowledge transfer to other SQA test engineers as necessary.
Participate in service transition activities to review relevant test artifacts (Master Test Document, Azure Test Plans - Test Suite, regression cases and automation scripts, migrated data, etc. as entry criteria to BAU.
Prepare final test reports for sign-off by relevant IT and business stakeholders
